All the reds, greens, and golds are gone from our hallways. The Christmas decorations made our Avila Gardens home sparkle. We residents certainly appreciate all the effort that went into our surroundings being so beautiful during the Holiday Season.

We currently have two Loyola High School students working here for their required service hours, Noah and Brendan, and they have been a big help in several ways. They assisted in taking down and putting away those decorations. (Alas, we miss the beautiful colors, but it was time!} They also serve at morning Mass, and have provided always much-needed “tech” help with our electronic devices. Thank you for your generosity Noah and Brendan. Remember us as we will remember you and we pray for success in all you do.

It is almost the end of the Third Week in Ordinary Time in the Liturgy. The new year is upon us. Our new President Trump was inaugurated on Friday. It is with interest that we watch his new plans unfold for our country. Thus, we have our world at Avila Gardens, and the world beyond to keep in our prayers.
